This dietitian-approved protein cheese ball is the perfect bariatric-friendly dish to share at a party! With zero cook time, prep is easy and will appeal to friends and family of all ages.
This low-carb bariatric recipe uses reduced-fat alternatives, spices, and protein suitable for metabolic and bariatric surgery patients. Onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper create a classically snackable flavor, while unflavored protein powder adds grams of protein to support your nutritional goals.*
Ingredients
16 oz Neufchâtel cheese
⅓ cup plain Greek Yogurt
-
2 scoops Bariatric Fusion Unflavored High Protein Meal Replacement
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
Dash of ground black pepper
2/3 cups pecans, finely chopped
Directions
Add Neufchâtel cheese, Greek yogurt, protein powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix with an electric hand mixer until smooth.
Use a rubber spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl and form the mixture into a ball.
Place the finely chopped pecans on a plate. Roll the cheese ball through the pecans to coat the outside entirely.
Cover the cheese ball with saran wrap and refrigerate for about an hour to allow the cheese to firm.
Serve with a spreading knife at room temperature with your choice of vegetables. Enjoy!
