Let’s face it: sometimes it’s hard to get your recommended servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Adding a greens powder to your morning protein shake can make this seemingly daunting task a breeze! A greens powder offers the perfect combination of fruits, veggies, and even algae that are processed into a powder form to support daily recommended nutrition.*
Combine with a bariatric protein powder, and you have a fast and nutrient-packed meal replacement that’s delicious any time of day. This recipe features Bariatric Fusion’s Strawberry Banana High Protein Meal Replacement, but any flavor of Bariatric Protein Powder can be used instead. If you’re still in the post-op recovery phase, consult your dietitian about adding hemp hearts as seeds may not be recommended until the solid food phase. Frozen banana gives smoothies a thick and milkshake-like consistency. You won’t even realize that you just drank your entire serving of daily greens!
Ingredients
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 tbsp hemp hearts
½ small frozen banana
-
2 scoops Bariatric Fusion Strawberry Banana High Protein Meal Replacement
2 tbsp powdered peanut butter
1 scoop greens powder
Directions
For a rich and creamy shake, combine all ingredients in a blender. Mix until thoroughly blended. Serve cold and enjoy!
Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container. To reserve, add ice, reblend, and consume within 24 hours.
